| 1988/3 | Magazine Vol. 3 No. 1 / March 1988 | Ploughing Engines return for Autumn Activities Weekend. / Two steam ploughing engines, owned by Graham Thomas and Colin Wait were displayed at the Autumn Activities Weekend. Alec Deadman tried his hand at managing the plough. The cost of transporting the engines was met by ACE Packaging. Alec Deadman also displayed his shire horses. Steam threshing was managed by Bert Dibben, the thresher being driven by Arthur Thompson's Foden Steam Engine. |

The film was shot in Hangleton and featured Ethel Buvyer, Francesca Zeuner, John Shaw and Emma Williams. |
| 1988/3 | Magazine Vol. 3 No. 1 / March 1988 | The Library - Fulfilling One of the Museum's Objectives / Roy Armstrong describes the purpose of the library as being for reference. It contains books, photographs, plans, drawings, and surveys with notes by surveyors etc. Richard Harris prepared software for cataloguing, and Marjorie Hallam was the first librarian. Caroline Hallam further developed the cataloguing system. Sally Stradling was Librarian for a while, and her place has been taken by Jonathan Roberts. There are some books for lending. |

Sunday 13th March - Mothering Sunday All mothers, accompanied by their offspring, will be given free admission and presented with a bunch of daffodils. On this occasion a special promotion of "Track Back" will take place.
Monday 14th March - Lambing begins. Bad luck on the ewes - they'll miss their free bunch of daffodils!
Wednesday 23rd March and Saturday 26th March - Volunteers' Briefing Sessions. The Wednesday session will be followed by a talk by Richard Pailthorpe on his experiences in America.

History of Farming Exhibition. / The Museum is co-operating with the National Farmers Union Central Southern Branch to produce an exhibition of the History of Farming. The Goodwood Estate gave the Museum a disused mid-19th Century cattle shed, which was dismantled in 1986. This has been repaired by Paul Russell and will house the exhibition. The roof trusses are of bolted king-post construction, and the timbers are of softwood except the main posts and braces, which are of oak. |

The barn belonged to Mrs Godman. It was dated by dendrochronolgy to 1536. It will be built with two outshots: one to house carts, and one as part of the foldyard to house cattle in the winter. This will result in a working steading. |
