1993/3Magazine Vol. 4 No. 10 / March 1993The dismantling of Longport House / Richard Harris on Longport House under several headings: its interpretation, the people involved in the dismantling and the discoveries during the dismantling, Particular mention is made of the Canterbury Archaeological Trust, Roger Champion, Paul Bennett, Chris Zeuner, John Boulden; and of a 17th century 24 inch ruler, fragments of grave markers, a small silver plate with the inscription "This timepiece together with a purse of money was on 18th January 1872 presented to Sergeant George Elwick by members and friends of the 20th Lincolnshire Rifle Volunteers".

1993/3Magazine Vol. 4 No. 10 / March 1993Educational services at the Weald and Downland Museum / An important objective of the Museum is to increase people's information about the value of our buuldings. The buildings and the interpreters play their part. and our special events are designed to be informative. 35,000 schoolchildren visit yearly and Geoff King meets as many school parties as possible. We also have courses and seminars. Our partnership with Bournemouth University and Weymouth College adds to our profile. Questions from historic building owners are answered; the library is available, and our publications all play their part. Some examples of the work done are given with reference to Chris Zeuner, Richard Harris, Richard Pailthorpe and Geoff King.
