1990/3SBC Minutes / 1 March 1990Site for Godalming (Holloway Hill Cottages) / (Discussed in the absence of Richard Harris and Roy Armstrong who had left the meeting to attempt to persuade the Director to return). The Chairman felt that the suggested siting was appropriate, bearing in mind access required for the Office. However, John Warren preferred to see the building moved by its length again nearer to the Market Square, thus maintaining the view from Hambrook Barn towards the lake. The Chairman had looked at the possibility of siting the building on the opposite side of the track, giving the best advantage of access to the office from the Museum entrance. Roger Champion explained that by reversing the building the most unsuitable side would be exposed to the weather. This was felt to be the overruling factor. The Chairman would ask the Director to alter the siting accordingly.
